- Orthodontic Clinical Assistant
Description
Orthodontic Assistant (4-Day Workweek!)
Locations: Carlsbad & San Diego, CA
Compensation: $28–$32 per hour (Based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 32 hours per week | 8-hour shifts
Job Type: Full-time
We’re growing, and we’re looking for the right person to join our team as an Orthodontic Assistant!
This is a hands-on, patient-centered clinical role. It’s fast-paced, detail-oriented, and deeply relational. Our practice is rooted in community, integrity, and genuine care. We’ve built our reputation on trust, transparency, and consistently positive patient experiences. If you enjoy working with your hands, staying organized, and bringing calm, positive energy into a clinical setting, you will love it here.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work chairside with our orthodontist to maintain a smooth clinical flow throughout the day. You’ll also help patients feel comfortable—whether it’s their first time in braces or the big day they get them off, your presence matters.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Set up and break down operatories efficiently.
- Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols.
- Take high-quality digital scans and radiographs.
- Assist with bonding, debonding, and appliance placement.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and appliance care.
- Keep detailed, accurate clinical notes.
What We’re Looking For
We value personality, work ethic, and emotional intelligence just as much as clinical experience. When the clinical side runs well, everything else works better.
Experience: Previous orthodontic or dental assisting experience is preferred. Experience with digital scanners and ortho appliances is a huge plus, though we are willing to upskill the right person!
Work Ethic: You take ownership of your space, pay attention to the small details, and take pride in a clean, organized clinic.
Communication: You communicate clearly and kindly with patients of all ages and support your team members naturally.
Logistics: Reliable transportation is required, as you will work two days in our Carlsbad office and two days in our San Diego office. (Note: Add a detail here about mileage reimbursement if you offer it).
Training & Growth: We believe in building strong team members, not just filling roles. We will gladly support and pay for necessary certifications for the right fit, including:
- Dental X-ray Certification
- CPR Certification
- Infection Control
Benefits & Perks
Stable, 4-day workweek (Enjoy your 3-day weekends!)
Competitive hourly pay
