- Owner/Orthodontist
Description
This is a rare opportunity to acquire two established orthodontic practices in the South Puget Sound region of Washington State, operating under the Comfort Dental franchise — the only orthodontic offices of their kind in the state. In addition to ownership of the Lakewood and Federal Way locations, this opportunity includes the option to open additional Comfort Dental Braces offices throughout Washington and selling partnerships, offering unique expansion potential for the buyer. Founded in 2013 and transitioned to the current owner in 2015, these practices have been led by a single doctor for the past 11 years, with a proven record of consistent production, modern systems, and a loyal patient base.
The practices are fully digital, featuring CBCT units with ceph arms in both locations, Trios 5 scanners (two per office), 2 in-house Flashforge 3Dprinters with Ministar for retainers, and sterilization with SciCan Statim and Bravo systems. WaveOrtho software ensures seamless digital records, scheduling, and treatment tracking. Current partnership with Neon Canvas for online marketing. Facilities include 7 chairs plus a consultation room in Lakewood and 6 chairs plus a consultation room in Federal Way, both located in high-visibility suburban retail spaces near schools, residential communities, and major roads.
The current team consists of an office manager, treatment coordinator, scheduling coordinator, financial coordinator, and two assistants (with a third being added), who travel with the doctor between both locations. The practices see an average of 40–60 patients per day, operating 3–3.5 clinic days per week between BOTH practices for a total of 12-13 Doctor days per per month (the practice does see patients one Saturday per month per office, from 8-1). 2024 production was $1.69M with $1.86M in collections, and 2025 was $1.64M in production and $1.76M in collections. There are 494 current active patients and strong retention program participation. Current accounts receivable at $1,507,106. The practices do accept most insurances, though they have not been accepting medicaid or state insurances. There are current talks about opening a third practice in the state with the pediatric Comfort Dental Kids offices in a very well off part of the state (Renton), bringing in the potential for substantial growth.
The asking price for the practices is $1.5M–$1.7M, representing 100% ownership transfer and a clean exit for the seller (The range representing the purchase price of the practice then assuming current loans for the practice regarding new CBCTs, scanners, etc). In addition, the seller will include the accounts receivable portfolio (~$1.51M), offering immediate cash flow and continuity. The reason for the sale is for the doctor and his family to move out of the state due to personal health concerns, for this reason discretion until sale completion is requested. Thus, the owner would not be staying on as an associate and is looking to make this transfer as soon as possible.
Located within the greater Seattle–Tacoma metro, both Lakewood and Federal Way are growing suburban communities with diverse populations, family-oriented neighborhoods, and proximity to Joint Base Lewis–McChord, the Puget Sound waterfront, and the Cascade Mountains. The region offers excellent schools, recreational opportunities, and steady residential and economic growth, making it an attractive setting for long-term practice ownership and potential future expansion.
