Description
I started my practice in 1995. We have always been a relatively small practice. My thought is that the main reason for this is that I have not pursued referrals from general dentists much, and for the last several years, not at all. I would see this as a plus for someone who was to purchase this practice, as there would be a strong opportunity for rapid growth.
Our office is located in a growing part of Montgomery, AL. There are 8 schools with a combined total of over 6250 students within a 6 mile driving distance from our office.
I have 4 dental chairs; 2 in the main treatment room and 2 in individual rooms. The main treatment room is plumbed for 3 chairs but only has 2 chairs right now. There is a small lab with a Sprint Ray Pro 95S 3D printer set up to make in house aligners.
I believe that this practice would be a great fit for someone looking for an alternative to DSO orthodontics. We have a Google review rating of 5.0. In general, I have always operated this practice under the principle of doing what is ultimately in the patient’s best interest rather than what is in the best interest of our practice. Obviously, this is not the most profitable model for an orthodontic practice. However, I do believe that this model earns trust and a good reputation that can lead to a very successful practice.
If someone wanted to practice under a different philosophy, I would be willing to consider selling the practice, equipment, building, etc. if they would be willing to rent some of the space back to me to be able to finish the patients I’ve started for the next 2-3 years. I would anticipate the need for space under this arrangement to get less and less as time passed and my patients were finished.
